She wasn’t good, but she had good intentions.

I’ll let Lyle Lovett sing me into the new year. Hopefully it won’t be a trend.

So… I didn’t exactly get as much done as I’d wanted during my week at home. I did do a lot of sleeping late and shopping and catching up with friends. And that’s really more important than cleaning grout or organizing paint supplies, no? We did cross a few home-related tasks off the list and I’ll share some of them with you soon! And we entertained a lot. In fact we had one set of guests who hung around for 26 hours straight. Are we the needy couple who has to force feed our guest pancakes in order to get them to stay? Maybe.

Quote of the weekend: “Oh, and by the way, there are still cans in the trees.”

I’ll let you figure out what that’s all about.

But until next time, I’ll leave you with some banana bread I made for the neighbors. I didn’t think it was that hot, but Taylor liked it so I’ll consider that a compliment.

Happy January!
