Number one with a bulletin board
Just wanted to show you guys a super quick DIY project I did a few weeks back. I got the idea from one of the many design blogs I frequent: Urban Grace. Erika is a designer in Destin, FL and has a twin sister, Darby, who also has an adorable blog about her adorable family, who may or may not have appeared in my dreams. Check out her heinous orange bathroom re-do, which is one of my favorite “make it work” renovations I’ve yet to see.
But back to the bulletin board–there’s an easy step-by-step tutorial here. The first photo is Urban Grace Erika’s bulletin board.
It’s a low-cost way to make an ordinary cork board much more fancy. I used 1/2 yard of fabric (about $5 at Forsyth Fabrics) and bought the nail heads at Hancock for another $6. Add in the $10 cork board and you’re looking at a $20 project. Even less if you have fabric on hand. Think smaller ones would be a super fun gift—maybe for all the nieces this Christmas? Shhh… Don’t tell.

Molly, I totally did not realize you had a blog, much less one that is completely AWESOME! I am going to add it to my blog roll….I am an Ohdeedoh/Apartment therapy freak along with Making it Lovely. You have mad talent! I am continually impressed with my classmates!

Katie, what lovely things to say! I am a huge fan of Apartment Therapy too and, even though I’m not a Mom, love me some Mom Blogs! Thanks for the sweet comment.
Don’t be alarmed when you visit in December and I’ve copied absolutely all of your ideas. But in a shoddy mother-effing kind of way.
I feel like I’ve seen this desk before. A Wes Anderson film maybe…
There was a Hallmark commercial at Christmas that used the Royal Tennenbaums song. About drove me nuts, thinking it was our spot!
