Friday Five: Feeling Frenchie
The French have an amazing design sense. Every color is perfectly chosen. The packaging is breathtaking. Even the Panera of Paris is amazingly decorated.
Here are 5 of the millions of gorgeous things we saw in Paris:
1. Blue Doors
They’re everywhere. This was at Ralph Lauren.
2. Laduree
This is a bad picture of Laduree because they don’t allow pictures and I had to be all sneaky and pretend like I was sending a text. They make macarons and other sweet things which were featured in Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette. Their store just makes you glad to be a girl.
3. Le Comptoir
We had a pretty odd dining experience here, but also the best mashed potatoes ever created in the whole wide world. So, we’ll take that as the lasting memory. And the darling little piggie/cochon on everything.
4. Anis Bottle
After a bit of a language battle, Taylor got his Anis. A serving is the same as 9 beers. Not really, but after a few glasses of vin, that’s what I thought.
5. Cool Handwriting
Every window and chalkboard has the cutest script-y words written on it. They make a burger and frites seem like a can’t-miss dish. I also thought “The Bree Van de Kamps” was a pretty fun band name too. Not that anyone watches Desperate Housewives anymore…
A bientot, Paris!

I want to hear the details on the odd dining experience. Of course, my mind went right to “The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover,” so hopefully it wasn’t that weird.
