Friday Five: Savvy Snoot

Last Saturday, the weather was a glorious tease of spring. I went out and about running errands before going home and stealing Taylor away from the laptop for a burger and beer al fresco. But one of the places I popped into was Savvy Snoot. I’d heard about this consignment shop here and there. My friend Fiona went the weekend before and scored a pair of awesome lamps. Here’s what I saw and snootily savored.

1. Mirrored Buffet.

I’ve seen these throughout the blogosphere. (This one is a particularly impressive re-do.) I love the mirrored front and OF COURSE the quatrefoils. I would like a skinny china cabinet with these doors on the bottom, please. Thank you very much.

2. Bulb Lamps

I loved the squat, large-and-in-charge shape of this guy. He had a twin. They were sold. I do like the Savvy Snoot’s “sold” signs that say “This piece is on it’s way to make someone’s home a little snootier.” Or something to that effect. Clever, clever.

3. Animal Paintings

I love art that incorporates type. Combine that with the fact that we’d like to hang oil paintings of farm animals in our dining room (hilarious, yes?), and these were right up my alley.

4. Leather Mirror

Taylor and I have long been lusting after this mirror and these mirrors at BBDW. They inspired our purchase of the mirror seen in the background here. We’d love to wrap the frame in leather. I’ll just add it to the to-do list… The one spied at Savvy Snoot had some very nice hardware on the sides. Equestrian Bling.

5. Danish Chairs

These chairs are for my other house. The one that’s totally airy and modern. With $1400 laying in a desk drawer with which I could actually purchase these chairs. (On sale from $2800… bargain…?)

I walked out with exactly zero of these things. But I did spy a lone slender lamp in the clearance room. A little bargaining and he came home with me. He’s currently awaiting a shade.

The Savvy Snoot is in the Westside Provisions District on 14th street in Atlanta. With killer fabric stores nearby, amazing restaurants and industrial sweetness all around, it’s become one of my very favorite parts of town.

Have you scored any good finds lately? Pray tell.

My daughter has that lamp (almost) in her new royal blue bedroom. The shape is the same and it is large, but the big squat base looks like a creamy white pearl against the walls. I am waiting for the day she hands that lamp down to me lol.

I found it at smartbargains.com and the customer service was great (had to get the measurements exact for the table this was being placed upon).

I’m sure it looks gorgeous against the bold walls! I’ve bought some things off of smartbargains in the past. It’s Loehmann’s online, I believe. I’d forgotten about them–thanks for the reminder!
