Californ-eye-ay

Remember me? It’s ok if you don’t. Been a little busy planning a wedding. I am SO excited about getting married in 10 (gulp!) days! And equally excited about resuming my home improvement life after that! There are so many neglected projects that just stare at me with bitter, longing eyes while I write thank you notes and plan seating charts.

Another adventure that has kept me busy lately was a trip out to California for work. I am totes lucky that I get to travel to some pretty swank places with my job. And a California trip during the last gasp of winter was nothing to complain about. One of my favorite things about traveling to the west coast is that I magically turn into a morning person! I hit the beach every day for a long walk. And this is what I saw.

What’s your favorite way to explore a new city?

    Walking!
Love that you magically turn into a morning person! That is the only way I would ever be one!

Uh, my pix would all be of the inside of my hotel room. Room service. Movie. The robe in the closet.

Hee hee at Leigh Anne. Love the spiral staircase! And the salt air picture is lovely. Much as I love Chicago, damn is it ugly 10 months out of the year.

I’m with Elaine – take it to the streets, old-fashioned style, and walk around to get a sense of a new city. As for finding out what to see and where to eat, I largely rely on friends’ recommendations or a combination of Yelp and Metromix. What DID I do before the Internet? I was too poor/young to ever go out to eat.
