Mood Swing: Part 2

When we last left the guest Sadie’s room, I was tossing the self-proclaimed Boho Chill look around. It’s airy and authentic and relaxing.

But then I saw several rooms across the interwebs (like this fantastic bathroom) that have me thinking in a completely different direction. Navy. And so I present, Moody Glam. (Clicky to enlarge.)

I know what you’re thinking. TOO DARK! But, this room gets a TON of natural light. I kinda think it could handle it.

What I like: Cozy and cocoon-like. Light accents (think white duvet cover, white lamps, white table top, white roman shades, white ceiling) definitely balance the dark. It’s unusual, yet it works with our house, as there is navy in the adjoining hallway and in the living room. Gold accents. Wood furniture. Oriental rug. Also, black accents mixing well with the navy.

What I don’t like: The fact that it might not flow as well with our house. We moved in with the intention to keeps colors to a minimum and flow from room to room. And we’ve kind of strayed from that to a small degree. Other than that? Um. Not much. If anything, it’s the risk factor of it sucking and having to repaint.

To remind you, here are the elements I want to keep in the room. The bed and the shelf can change colors. (They are magic!)

So what’s your vote? Boho Chill or Moody Glam? Kaftan or Peignoir?

Both are gorgeous! Sorry, I can’t make up my mind… although maybe it’d be easier to do boho chill with what you already have?

As a Floridian I go for the white, crisp look in the summer. Think we have been looking at Taylor’s “white room” in Cannes too much. The guest/Sadie’s room does receive lots of light. The master bedroom is perfect for sleeping – more like a cocoon. The navy may be too dark for the walls, but love navy and white combination. Maybe you could have Taylor re-paint every season! lol

Moody glam! Love the idea of the light accents that will pop. But I’m with Tessa – ask Sadie! Who does not seem like a terribly moody young lady :-)

Moody Glam. I’m a sucker for navy (says the girl who is about to repaint her bedroom Antique White).

Both are gorgeous, but I’d lean more towards boho chill – easily adaptable to another “theme” in the future rather than the darker colors. Either way, you’re a styling genius! :-)
