Friday Five: Jonathan Adler

Last night, Leslie and I went to a party at the Jonathan Adler store hosted by H&H Home. I had the pleasure of meeting Heather (not sure if she’s the first H or the second) at a Christmas party last year and we talked home stuff for what seemed like a very long time over several glasses of egg nog. She and her business partner Helen have an online store and do interior design for various clients. I love their style. Check out her store—how fab are those Hermes-inspired cane chairs?

Anyhoosist, as I was saying, the party at Jonathan Adler was a fantastic idea, though at times I felt a bit rude to the folks I was talking to, as my eye kept wandering to all the eye candy around the store. And while some of Mr. Adler’s creations are beyond my budget–I did spy a deck of cards that seemed rather reasonable–they are pretty drool-worthy. Here are 5 of my faves.

Shocking. I like the lighting. I think it’s actually his strongest suit. He’s got some really amazing pieces. This comes in two colors (the other is white and nickel). I had a hard time deciding which one to mentally buy.

While we’re at it, here’s a lamp.

How about a luuuvely sofa?

I SO wish I needed a sofa, because if I did, I would buy this one and paint the base white and call it a day and put my $3375 back in the bank where it belongs.

These were so soft, I kept petting them despite the fact that it was 90 degrees outside.

Large Acrylic Tray. Monogrammable, you know. Which may make it worth the $98 price tag, but I might give this a shot with some cute paper and some ModPodge first.

Of course Jonathan Adler was the one who inspired our family silhouette project. So I do owe him a thank you. The Atlanta store is in the Westside Provisions District and is so bright and fun. Go there just to get out of a bad mood.

    Molly –
It was great talking to you guys last night – I’m still embarrassed about my wine explosion…

Hey, Read! So nice to see you again, too. No worries about the champagne… if Jonathan Adler doesn’t mind, I certainly don’t. And you likely gave a future someone a solid discount on the floor model rug! Thanks for stopping by the blog. Hi to Heather!
