100th Post Giveaway
Cue the confetti! Pop the prosecco!
This is my 100th post on The Nesting Game! 100 DIO (did it ourselves) projects, shopping trips, pipe dreams and several cans of spray paint later, we have reached this landmark. One, I hope, that is the first of many.
Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just stumbling upon my little corner of the internet, I wanted to give you a little something to say thanks. But what can adequately express my appreciation for your comments, compliments and page views?
A footstool.
Clearly.
I found this lost little lamb on the same shopping excursion for my mod den footstool and our refurbed French side table.
Lovely, no? Remember mauve?
Laminated fabric, too. A quick flip over revealed that this little guy came from The Bombay Company back in the day. After peeling back the the mauve-lous print, I discovered someone had covered over the original cream-colored fabric.
Well, now it’s got a new life, and soon I hope it has a new home. Yours, maybe?
I primed and painted the base black. The turned legs look so much sassier now.
Then I covered the top with fabric from the Amy Butler Lotus collection. Temple Garland in the Sky colorway. I bought several yards of this before we moved into the house, but plans changed (as they do) and we never used it.
I knew I wanted to zhuzh it up a bit (had to Google how to spell that), so I dug through the bag of buttons I’ve had for 20 years or so and found the perfect one from a J.Crew jacket that Taylor says makes me look like a construction cone.
I drilled two holes very close together through the bottom of the cushion and tried my hand at tufting.
And while I’m very happy with the way it turned out, I’m super excited to give it to one of you!

Love the fab stool and your blog!
Cute! Great makeover.
First you make me love the pink/grey combo (who knew?!), then you remind me how un-crafty I am with the stencil silhouettes (and how envious I am of your exacto knife skills), then you make me want to move into your guest room (I promise not to steal any of Taylor’s elephant art), then you make me crave homemade blueberry muffins (and you didn’t even bring me any)… le sigh, I still love The Nesting Game.
My mother (Jodi Godwin) directed me to your blog, this is adorable! Lovely footstool!
As always, I covet your style. I mean admire.
Stacking the votes… for me… Your work looks good on my blog AND in my house.

Oooooooh, have been a fan of your blog and am wildly impressed with your footstool. It has all my favorite colors, so I am gleefully crossing my fingers!
The hubs and I move next week, have been doing nothing but sketch layouts, dream of curtains dancing in the breeze…
Pick me! That stool is beautiful. And I’ve been reading since the beginning. Plus, I followed you on twitter before knowing about the contest. So does that still count?
Happy 100th post!
Wow, that is totally beautimous –you must be an upholsterer
Following you on Twitter now
BUT you could put Amy Butler fabric on a toad and it would become a prince–all things Amy make everything beautiful :p LOVE!!
So cute and Amy Butler is one of my favorite fabric designers! You did a great job!
Posted on Twitter as well!
I think that little stool would be so so happy in San Francisco – nothing beats the fog like a little Amy Butler! Plus, you’ve already done some decorating in my apartment so why stop now….
Win or lose, VERY cute, nicely done!
Love what you are doing! Beautiful work!
Love your blog! Just found it via your comment on Amy Butler’s FB page!
The neurons finally started firing and I realized I could at least help promote your blog on Twitter so I did that
Then I realized, heck, if I win the footstool I can figure out how to bring it to Paris. There are bigger problems in this world than figuring out how to get an awesomely chic footstool overseas. I hope I win because I love it! And I hope your contest is a huge success for you!
I want!!!
Love it! I’ve been wanting to try my hand at tufting for a while now, but why bother when I can just win your cute little creation?

LOVE this! I’m impressed, Molly!
I love your style of turning something old to new. I am drawn to that the same way God takes our old ways and makes us new.
I love your style of turning something old to new. I am drawn to this as a reminder how God turns our old lives to make us a new creation.
Love your blog, you did a great job on this little footstool! I’m jealous of your flea market parrot find, he is super handsome.
