Besame Mucho

While in Key West, we did a whole lot of swimming, a whole lot of sunning, a whole lot of cocktailing and a whole lot of eating this gorgeous coconut cake.

We didn’t do a whole lot of shopping, however. But as luck would have it the best Sunday brunch place on the island had a 1 hour wait and a prime location next to this adorable store called Besame Mucho.

As you walk in the door, there’s a sign that says “Shop here once and life will become a joy forever.” I scoffed at the overpromise, but it turns out I may have been wrong.

Besame Mucho was filled with gorgeous linens that would make me sleep even later than I already do. Although, with linens like these maybe I’d just go to bed earlier.

Leigh Ann and I plotted how to make a heavy linen blanket like these, ourselves. Right after I figure out my sewing machine. I’ve tried twice and it just vomits tangled thread balls at me.

But once I do get it working, I’ll of course need spools of velvet ribbon to line drapes and shams.

And these hand-forged scissors from India to snip them with.

Maybe I’ll put a perfectly tarnished silver pedestal candy dish of nail polish called Butter in my spacious white marble bathroom. Oh wait.

But a collection of silver plates may actually be doable.

I was tickled by these domed ring holders. I thought they were a little spooky–Jekyll and Hyde. Like maybe one day  you’d come home and there’d be an actual finger in there, too.

Their collection of John Derian trays made me smile. I’m sad I missed his Target line last fall.

But what really stole my heart were these arrows. I almost bought one, but realized I really loved the entire collection grouped together. So at $26 an arrow, I decided to leave Cupid his stash.

And last but not least, this cute little card. I can’t say I agree, but I can say I was charmed.

If you ever go to Key West (yes), Besame Mucho is on Petronia Street next to the popular spot, Blue Heaven. I also highly recommend the Lobster BLT Eggs Benedict.

And don’t forget to bring some best buds.
