Friday Five: Studio Apartment

Okay. A quickie Friday Five for you.

This 300 sq. ft. studio apartment by designer Nick Olsen has been all over the interwebs, but I don’t care because I just LOVE IT. I spied it in the July/August issue of House Beautiful, and seeing how it is technically still August I am not late to the party. (Even though I am. But I am late everywhere. A bad habit.)

FIVE-ISH THINGS I TOTALLY LOVE ABOUT THIS SPACE. (Besides everything.)

1. The green piping on the white sofa. And the swing arm lamps.

2. The photos on the fridge. It actually reminds me of my Mother-in-law’s fridge. I need to get some magnetic photo sleeves.

3. The red nightstands. And the green trim on the ruffled curtains. With a streamlined color palette, it’s remarkably not Granny!

4. In the photo in the left: The beautiful mirror that reminds me of meringue. Vaguely reminiscent of our Ikea chalkboard.  I also dig that pic of Liz Taylor, dripping in jewels and tropical birds.

5. And from the photo on the right: The bergere chair upholstered in a Mexican serape. And the fab green trim painted on the door. Scroll up and notice the same trim on the kitchen cabinets in the second photo.

Here’s a video from House Beautiful with the designer talking more about the space. You can really see the scale and how tiny it is, but what a cheery place to call home.

Happy weekend!

Whoa, just watched the House Beautiful video. LOVE the green faux-backsplash in the kitchen. My question is, though … where are all her clothes? I assume there is a closet hiding somewhere.

When we purchased the stainless steel refrigerator, had to be sure the sides were NOT stainless.
Wanted the photo magnets to work! Love to look at pictures my grandkids!
