Seven Posts

Chaaron—footstool-winner, Manny-owner, and blogger at Sense and Nonsense—tagged me in her Seven Links post. So I thought, why not take a little stroll down memory blog lane? Here goes.

1. Your most beautiful post: I Definitely Do

Hmm. This one was kinda tough. I wish my photography skills were better, so I’ll rely on someone with far superior ones. Which reminds me, I need to share some wedding photos one of these days…

Second runner up: Meet Virginia’s

This post of my grandmother’s home in St. Louis featured some nice iPhone pics courtesy of Taylor.

2. Your most popular post: TV Blueprints

Thanks to a re-post from Hooked on Houses, this post has gotten more than 3,300 hits. I guess my own little ranch can’t compete with Mike and Carol’s split-level.

3. Your most controversial post: Pre-Marital Squabble

I don’t know if it’s controversial to anyone besides me, but this is the post where I am right and everyone else is wrong. Except my mother-in-law who sides with me. And my mother who only comments on my blog via telephone.

The chair is navy blue. Like George Banks’ tuxedo.

4. Your most helpful post: Silhouettes

Our silhouettes have probably been the most unique project we’ve undertaken. I have been very happy with some of my furniture re-painting ones, but lots of sites can tell you how to paint furniture. I haven’t seen our method of silhouetting anywhere else. I am still bitter, however that my head was too big for the gold frame.

5. A post whose success surprised you: My Friends Have Baggage

The compelling story of how I stapled new ribbons to my luggage stand landed me on the front page of WordPress and the highest single day of traffic until the tree stump showed up on Apartment Therapy.

They are really pretty ribbons.

6. A post you feel didn’t get the attention it deserved: Too Much on My Plate

This was a relatively early blog post, so that probably contributes to its lack of traction, but between the awesome, antique china, the dark chocolate accent wall, the fab disc plate hangers and the tried and true butcher paper hanging trick, this post has a lot to offer. I do kind of recoil when I see the before picture and the busy duvet/quilt combo. Better photos of the wall and bedding can be found here.

7. The post that you are most proud of: Campaign Nightstands: Done!

I was so happy with how these turned out! From the bargain price to the bright paint to the impromptu styling, it is easy being green. Speaking of, the SECOND most popular search term to get to my blog? Kermit.

I hope you discovered something new in this excavation of the archives! It’s fun to see how far we’ve come in 2 years of chronicling our nesting adventures.

Now, I’m supposed to tag five other bloggers to do the same:

1. Old Sweet Song

2. Neurotic City

3. Thoroughly Modern Medusa

4. K.F.D. Designs

(Heck, let’s reach for the stars…)

5. Little Green Notebook

I like to think you didn’t tag Badder Homes and Gardens because trying to figure out our most controversial post would immediately collapse the internet worldwide.

Hells Bells. I knew I was forgetting someone. Consider yourself tagged. You can just type your URL under “controversial”.

    Love the Kermit nightstands. LOVE!
