I want to be a dentist!

The Bumble says it’s time to party.

We’re loading up and heading to sunny Florida. Some people say it ain’t Christmas without snow. Personally, I’m totally cool with the flip flop version.

But before we go, I thought I’d share some tree photos with ya. It went up the day after Thanksgiving and I’ve loved staring at the lights. (Half of which just blew out. I thought they stopped making those kinds of lights… Clearly not.)

I’d say about half our ornaments are of the generic ball variety, half are hand-me-downs and half are gifted/collected over my adult life. (Yes, I realize that’s fishy math. Sidebar—anyone remember “new math”? Was that a real thing or just on The Cosby Show? Did I learn it?)

These old wooden ones are from my Mom. She couldn’t hand them off fast enough.

Our friends Leigh Anne and Wally gave us this gorgeous one from Olive & Cocoa last Christmas after our engagement.

We also got into the habit of picking up ornaments as we travel. The Key West one above was from a summer trip (also with Leigh Anne and Wally), and Taylor picked up this one in Germany this fall.

The lady who lived in our house before us had a thing for roosters. The weekend we moved in we went down to the neighborhood Greek Festival and I found this ornament in the bazaar. I thought it was a neat reminder of the year we moved in.

We’ve also been enjoying the new gas logs in our fireplace. It’s a Texas Stack from The Hearth and Patio Shop in Tucker, Georgia. The guy there knows what the heck he’s talking about. So, if you’re in the market for a marshmallow roaster, pack up the wagon and head OTP. Doesn’t it look real? The kids were totally fooled.

I hope these next few days find you with people you love, lots of cookies, a cup of Christmas cheer, and visions of sugarplums doing the tango.

Am waiting anxiously for the Crawford gang to arrive!
Yes, the sun is shining beautifully, Gator is waiting for a walk in the park, and thinking nothing is better than wearing flip flops on the beach at Christmas!
