It Takes Tangerine to Tango

So, there’s good news and bad news.

Let’s get the bad out of the way, shall we?

My pal Lisa and her hubs are moving to Seattle. I’m super happy for them and their west coast adventure, but sorry to see them go. We did have a fun night out last weekend where we accidentally ordered a $65 bottle of wine. Whoops. But it was tasty, tasty and and a worthy send-off to good friends.

And with a cross-country move comes the issue of actually moving stuff. Lisa and Justin actually sold most of their belongings, including brand-new furniture and wedding gifts. I admit, I was kind of intrigued by the idea of just starting over. It made me feel a bit guilty about all the JUNK in our basement. It does not take long to go from “Say Yes to the Dress” to “Hoarders,” I’m just sayin’.

So last week Lisa hit me up to see if I would be interested in pimping out the lone holdout of their Furniture City Going-Out-of-Business Sale, their dining room table and chairs.

You like? I make deal for you.

Lisa recovered the seats in the cutest fabric—I believe from Ikea?

It instantly made me think of the Pantone Color of 2012, Tangerine Tango. Could it be because there is an ACTUAL TANGERINE on the fabric? I don’t miss a trick. Anyway, to enhance the lovely table I thought I’d toss out some ideas for a small but chic Tangerine Tango dinner party you could throw on top of it. (This is the good news, btdubs.)

plates / placemats / flatware / drinks / dessert / cake stand / napkin 1 / napkin 2

Atlanta peeps, Lisa’s table and 4 chairs are for sale for $400. To check it out in person, please call Gail at Urban Cottage: 404-815-9993. And if you buy it, invite me over and I’ll bring a bottle of wine, likely valued at less than 65 dollars.

There’s more mood board fun here: Pumpkin Spice / Sunshine and Sea

This is a good segue to feature sponsor Farewell Paperie, seeing as how it’s Lisa’s company and all. Lisa and Jen started the biz while we all worked together at an ad agency. They’ve since done very well, not only doing custom invitations but also a sassy line of cards. (Recently featured on Design*Sponge, even!) Here are some of my faves.

“That’s Whack” is part of a whole Gangsta Card Collection. Things you never thought you’d see letterpressed…

You can check out Farewell Paperie’s Etsy shop for the cards above (and others) and their website for custom wedding and party invitation designs.

Like the table, LOVE the chairs! Unfortunately not Atlanta-based.

In other news, there’s nothing worse than a bad bag of tangerines.

When one door closes another opens? So sad to hear a friend is moving away – that is the worst!
