Friday Five: Pollen Decor

March 23, 2012

Spring has exploded all over Atlanta. It is gorgeous, don’t get me wrong. The azaleas in my neighborhood are so freaking big, they’re like hibiscus.

Look at me talking like I understand gardening things.

Anyway, everything in this entire city is coated in pollen. You can see it swirling in the air. My laptop was sitting in front of an open, screened window, and it was covered in dust. I even noticed the windowsills on my 9th story office are coated too. It’s taking down co-workers left and right. Taylor has been passing out in a Benadryl-coma every night this week.

So, in honor of the anthrax of the air, and to make up for the lack of pretty photos in this week’s basement posts, here are five lovely rooms inspired by pollen. No Claritin required.

What’s on tap for the weekend? Tonight, Taylor and I are going to help a friend hang a gallery wall and drink wine. A risky combination, I admit. I’m heading to a little focus group/event sponsored by MyColor inspired by Pantone paints on Saturday… I whipped up a quick project for it this week. Also, I’m going to see The Hunger Games! I’m super excited about it. And I should probably mop my kitchen floor. It’s in a bad way. Whatever you do, make it good.

Went to the midnight premiere of Hunger Games. (Yes, I have two teen-agers!) About to get them up now for school, after 3 hours of sleep. Worth it. I almost never like a movie if I’ve liked the book, but this one: I like!

Everytime I hear mockingbirds in the morning now, I think of Rue.

The 1st room is gorgeous! It’s like the perfect room for spring time.

    Have a good weekend!
