The Weekend That Was
Unlike these little guys who are chillin’ in a bush in our backyard…
Taylor and I flew the nest this weekend for Chattanooga, where I grew up. You know how I know that I have the BEST husband ever? Because not only will he happily attend my high school reunion, he will attend a class reunion WHEN IT’S NOT EVEN MY CLASS.
Our friend Beth was in from Chicago for her reunion at our high school, so we took the 90 minute drive up there to visit with her and some of our other friends for the night. We didn’t crash the actual reunion, instead we went to this fantastic restaurant.
St. John’s Meeting Place. Don’t you love the type on the marquee? My cousin-in-law, whom I’d never met until Saturday, is the chef de cuisine here and he was so kind, sending out extra courses for us to try (especially considering I was a total stranger and could have been a pathological liar claiming to be related to chefs in order to get free food).
Then we stalked the class of ’92 afterparty. And then, many hours later, we ended up here.
Then Sunday, I headed to a baby shower for my friend Jen who is having TRIPLETS! Eeek! Eeek! Eeek!
And remember the last baby shower I went to? Well, Miss Harper is here. And she’s so sweet.
Drew enjoyed being the older, more experienced baby in attendance.
Afterwards, there was still a little time to enjoy the pretty day and a good book.
And Taylor whipped up some tacos for dinner complete with homemade corn tortillas. Like I said, best husband ever.
Hope your weekend was equally delicious!
