Front Hall Mirror Switcheroo

I did a little mirror change-up in our front hall. I decided to trade the antique oval mirror for the larger scalloped mirror I bought a couple months back. The exact same one Jae at Design OCD bought at practically the exact same time! More like Design ESP…

Here’s how the hallway looked before:

You can see that the other mirror was much smaller, though I did really like the oval shape. The new mirror is bigger and makes the small hall look a little larger as a result. You can also see that there are THREE other mirrors in the reflection. I may be a tad bit obsessed.

I also had fun restyling the table. I’ve gotten in the habit of clipping whatever I find in the yard. This week, it’s Indian Hawthorne and it smells AMAZING.

I decided to go with a little more of a coral scheme. I pulled a couple books, then added a small enamel box I believe I received for a college graduation gift. (It says “Congratulations” on top.) The bust was an estate sale find (4 for $10) and I totally love him. It’s Puccini. Or Paganini. Definitely not Panini.

We’ve amassed a collection of photo strips: of us, of the kids and even one of random strangers we found left behind in a photo booth. Instead of displaying them in the mint julep cup like before, I wrapped them with some coral card stock I had left over from the wedding. I also dug up a botanical print I had bought at Goodwill a couple years ago. (It’s part of a pair.) I have plans for the gold frame on the botanical. Up close, it looks kind of cheap as-is. I just ran out of weekend.

But don’t feel sorry for the oval mirror! I think it’s gonna find a new home over Taylor’s dresser.

See our other super, gigant-o mirrors in the dining room, the family room and the Moroccan mirror in the bedroom hallway. (I could go on, but I won’t.)

I LOVE it there. And I like your layered styling. I need to spruce up the bathroom mine is in so it looks fabulous as well.

Looks great here! This way it sort of blends into the styling instead of standing out and saying “hi! I’m a mirror!” (If you were to have a talking mirror that is.

Thanks, Sharon! Glad to have you! The blue vase was a gift a few years back. I know it came from Crate & Barrel, but I’m not sure if they stil sell it.
